The 32-year-old has starred as vigilante Hughie Campbell in the satirical superhero series from 2020. He was asked on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast if he had shared anything with the producers about his expectations of Hughie as “The Boys” approaches its end with the upcoming season 5.
Jack noted, “Oh, man, I kind of just want nudity to stop. My butt’s had a lot of screen time and it’s not a great one, you know what I mean.”

When asked if his family watches the show, including its more risqué scenes, Jack Quaid shared that while they do tune in, he prefers they skip certain parts. For instance, when it comes to scenes that reveal his butt, he’s requested that they “just not watch.”
Jack added humorously, “I mean, season 3, don’t watch it. Like no one in my family should watch season 3. My butt’s all over that thing.”

At conventions, Jack is often surprised when entire families, including young children, approach his table to share how much they love “The Boys.” When he points out that some of the kids seem a bit young for the show’s content, the parents usually shrug it off, saying, “They got to learn.”
Given the nudity on the show, Jack often has further questions about the appropriateness for younger viewers, but he usually leaves it at that.
Fans had a lot to say regarding Jack’s comments, including his wish to no longer want to bare his body in “The Boys.” One viewer weighed in, “You don’t have to do it!” Another suggested, “He should talk to producers not reporter [sic].” A fan with similar views told the actor, “It’s okay to say no.”

A frustrated fan commented, “The Boys writers need to stop with anything that is uncomfortable.” Another echoed those sentiments, “Nudity really needs to stop right now.”

One viewer complained, “They do too much. As a viewer, it gets tiring.” Another shared what they decided to do, “Just stop watching at this point #TheBoy.” Finally, one fan lamented, “It seems it only make [sic] nudity. The show has turned into a woke joke.”
In 2020, while reflecting on his role in “The Boys,” Jack shared that as a kid, he’d always dreamed of playing a superhero. So, he was thrilled to finally have superpowers in this project.
However, he noted with a hint of humor that achieving this dream came with unexpected challenges. “Yes, I had to be naked in order to do it, and at first, I was like, ‘Oh man, come on.’ They get such joy out of torturing me on the show,” he joked.
Jack also shared how his view on nudity had changed slightly as he filmed more scenes, “It’s a weird thing because you’re just kind of naked in a room full of very clothed people and it’s just a thing the human brain isn’t used to. It was an adjustment period for sure. Toward the end I got more comfortable with it.”
Jack noted that the professionalism of everyone on set contributed to him feeling comfortable. After spending three years together, the cast and crew had become like a second family to him. He shared that if nudity scenes had been required during the first season, he might have felt differently. So, given their camaraderie and trust, it went as smoothly as possible.
